Taloca Colombian Decaf

This is an MC decaf bean with a fairly intense presence.

As a rule, I like the solvent processed decafs better than the Swiss water process in which the green beans are subjected to a lengthy boiling. Methylene Chloride sounds bad, but it's a very effective caffeine solvent, so the process takes place at relatively low temperatures, leaving the beans relatively unscathed. This solvent has a very low evaporation point, so residue in the green beans is almost non-existent; measured in the parts per billion. By the time the beans come out of the roaster, the solvent is completely gone.
