Indian Monsoon Malabar AA flavor 8, finish 7.5, acidity 6, body 8, balance 4 (open bowl, full city, air roaster) total: 33.5 This is a large "bleached" bean, golden yellow/tan rather than green, and very "lightweight," as is the case with coffees which have been allowed to age in the humid monsoon winds. Monsooning gives a very distinctive earthy flavor. The monsooned beans tend to hit 2nd crack at a lower temperature, so develop oil at a lighter color than most others. Often used in blends to balance any of the Africans. Also often used in espresso blends for sweetness and body. mks: 14/191/2001/01 |
