New Canopy installed in the town
centre location
I designed and had this canopy made by a
local sailmaker. I had previously looked at various options for
covering
the tables, from umbrellas to gazebos, but
most options were very expensive so I designed a solution that could also
easily be erected
and dismantled by one person, and small enough when packed to be stored in the
trailer.
The Council agreed to place the underground
anchors I obtained, which needed 15" holes digging and
I did a deal
with the company that is responsible for the
town centre cleaning (Colas) to advertise the
City logo and "Gold Zone"
on the canopy. Gold Zones are areas of
the city which the company makes a special effort to keep clean.
When packed, the canopy looks like this - a
large umbrella that fits in the trailer.
I carry two additional posts that I
had manufactured, and these are inserted in
the ground anchor (above).
