January Photo Challenge
[edit]Currently I counted the candidates:
- First aid: 4 Yes, 1 Neutral.
- Orange: 5 Yes.
- Peace and Peace Symbols: 6 Yes.
- Public Transport: 9 Yes, 4 No.
- Ponds: 6 Yes, 4 No.
- Wooden bridges: 5 Yes.
So, I suggest that "Peace and Peace Symbols" will be one of two topics of the challenge this month. The other one will be "Orange" or "Wooden bridges". Please choose one. This is Taiwania Justo speaking (Reception Room) 06:15, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- Please be a little bit patient, or do the work by yourself, this is done by unpaid volunteers (as you are too). One day late is nothing, and you can still upload your pictures later. Wikisquack (talk) 10:19, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- You may not be aware that I had already been working on the setup of the voting pages since last month, and this week I am responsible for tallying the votes for the December 2025 photo challenge. I raised this discussion primarily because several topics received very similar levels of support, which I felt warranted further discussion. At the time, however, I did not observe any changes in the vote count for the Soviet Modernist architecture topic, and in such a case I would normally have handled it myself.
- As there are currently no rules outlining how to proceed when topics have an equal net level of support, making a unilateral decision could later invite questions about the decision-making process. For that reason, initiating a discussion seemed to be the most appropriate and cautious approach. That is all. This is Taiwania Justo speaking (Reception Room) 11:13, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- I misunderstood your message. I agree with you, however on less political topics, I think it's okay (even if it may raise issues with the maintainer's participation) Wikisquack (talk) 11:44, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
